Worse thing that could have happened to the GOP is the growth of the conservative movement into a different party.

Exactly how do you define "Conservatism".

I'm all in favor of a conservative party...the Republicans certainly ain't it. How did Truman put it, "When given a choice between a Republican or a Democrat acting like one, the people will chose the real thing every time." Flip side of the same coin.
