The new Republican nominee for senator of Alabama has ties to Confederate secessionists that are as recent as the past decade, a new report says.

In 2009 and 2010, the foundation for Judge Roy Moore — who won a GOP runoff on Tuesday and is expected to win a general election this December — hosted an event by Confederate sympathizers to memorialize Alabama’s 1861 secession from the union.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday dismissed the prospect of talks with North Korea as a waste of time a day after his own secretary of state said the United States was maintaining open lines of communication with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“I told Rex Tillerson, our wonderful Secretary of State, that he is wasting his time trying to negotiate with Little Rocket Man,” Trump wrote on Twitter, using his sarcastic nickname for Kim and seeming to contradict the top U.S. diplomat.

Trump, who has traded insults and threats with Kim in recent weeks amid escalating tensions over Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programs, later tweeted that his White House predecessors, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, had all ”failed“ on North Korea by ”Being nice to Rocket Man,”

“So why would it work now?” he asked.

Tillerson ran a huge company for years. He must have developed a keen sense for determining who would make great leaders vs pretenders. WTF does he stick with a fraud like Trump? He must surely be fed up with the idiot by now.

This from Shannon Edwards to Murphy.

Here's your Republican party:

MSNBC: Trump presidency at 'lunge for nuclear football' stage

'Sources say that other people say' that Mattis and Kelly are on guard in case Trump has to be physically restrained from impulsively ordering a nuclear attack.

But is the House talking impeachment or Article 25? No no no. This is what the House is "scheduled to consider" this week:

Quote:
H.R. 294 To designate the facility of the United States Post Office located at 2700 Cullen Boulevard in Pearland, Texas, as the “Endy Ekpanya Post Office Building”
Etc. See http://docs.house.gov/floor/

(To be fair, the "NIST Small Business Cybersecurity Act of 2017, as amended," and the "Power and Security Systems (PASS) Act" might be somewhat substantive. But where's the 'Get the Crazy Man the Hell Out of There Before He Destroys the World Act?')

Speaking of the 'Get the Crazy Man the Hell Out of There Before He Destroys the World Act,' here's what Robert Reich just tweeted. It's a conversation with an "old friend, a former Republican member of Congress."

Tillerson does not seem the type to suffer fools.

I suspect Tillerson is a "patriot" and that he is seriously trying to hold the ship together for the sake of the country. Just a hunch.
