Can $1 Billion win the presidency? If not there is more where it comes from, 39 B$'s according to Forbes. Of course, Trump believes that number is inflated. I don't believe he will gain any traction since Trump is and will continue to dominate the media and social networks.

Bloomberg running as an independent is about the only thing that could give Trump a win the the general election. He would split the non-trump vote.
