Nope, just coping with the local flicker and flash power company.

I remember your posting several times about their unreliability. When Gale and I first moved out where we are a heavy fog would put the power out. It has since gotten much better.

They have gotten some better, but at the price of defacing the countryside. If I did to trees what they do I would likely wind uo in jail.

The trick to having reliable power is to get on the same circuit as a hospital.

I discovered that when I lived in the boondocks. My power flickered with every breeze. There was a little medical clinic about a mile down the road. After I lived there a few year the medical clinic was expanded into a small hospital with an OR. When that happened my electrical power became rock solid.

The trick to reliable power is to take it out of the hands of private industry. One power failure in 13 years back with Ontario Hydro. No poles and wires strung through the neighbourhood either.

Blasphemy. That's so************************m.

Dontcha know that the profit motive inherently makes the electrical company provide better service. Thier workers know that if they provide unreliable power then they will lose customers.

Or, maybe, they will provide unreliable power to maximize profit and then rationalize that they are also job creators in the backup generator market.

The local flicker and flash actually sells Generac backup generators - go figure. Funny they wanted competion in the telephone service but not in electric power. Well sort of as we buy our power from a non local generating company but we are stuck with the local distribution.
