Household Preparedness

There is a good article discussing household preparedness in the 14 September issue of the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly. It provides some rudimentary information and trends in the current state of household preparedness.

What a title! It sounds like a newsletter for Stephen King fans.

Which reminds me, I need to get to work on that generator.

Thanks, BH.

I'm stocking up on plastic sheeting and duct tape just like Gee Dubya told me too.

I'm afeared Mitt might shrug and we would have to fend for our own dang selves.

That's interesting.

When I was a kid we kept water and powered milk in the storeroom. Some neighbors I currently have follow the mormon thing about a years worth of food!

The older (72 hours on it) 6000 watt generator is sitting in the barn. Recoil start on propane is not for 81 year olds. The new electric start 8000 watt is in the garage and will run on gasoline, natural gas or propane and the 100 pound propane tank is full. With two freezers full of food I guess we will manage. Oh yead there is also plenty of wood for the double wall fireplace, it can heat the whole house,
