A Bit of Brain Power

This is a great picture from 1927. See how many you recognize and then ponder the significance of their contributions.

I know. I switched back to Imageshack and can't get the link right. Also my internet connection is slow. Probably someone downloading a video. I fixed it.

The only face I recognized was Einstein's but I was definitely familiar with a lot of the names. Amazing collection of genius!

Where was the photo taken?

I recognized Einstein, Max Plank and Marie Currie but, that's about it. I mistook one for Sir Arthur Eddington, who isn't in that picture at all. (But, probably should have been.)

At any rate, the folks in that group advanced the world in HUGE ways. Today, they would be disregarded as "academia", the very heart of intellectual thought and therefore---Evil.

Well, in the United States, anyhow. Maybe not elsewhere.

The Solvay Physics Conference is held every three years. The next one is in 2014.

"Einstein, disenchanted with Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, remarked "God does not play dice". Bohr replied, "Einstein, stop telling God what to do"."

A bunch of intellectual elitists, the bane of today's GOP. Rhetorical question - How many of these esteemed individuals would vote for today's GOP? My guess - none.

And how many would fail to see global climate change for the real danger that it is?
