It's gonna be a sweaty one.

This has been bumped to 110. One of the ladies at the plant just told me it almost hit 120 out on the canning lines today around noon. Tack another 10 degrees onto that for the roasting department.

How much you want to bet management will be bitching about absenteeism tomorrow?
They don't see what the problem is, it never went over 72 in the cubicle.........

Does Virginia have a law requiring the plant to be shut down if the temperature on the floor exceeds a certain level? I know OSHA doesn't (and should) but maybe some states do.

I dunno. But, if they do, it's probably set at 150 and worded specifically to give employers the right to fire anyone who leaves work at temperatures lower than that, even if they should leave strapped to a gurney. It is a right to work state after all.

Sarcastic humor aside, I really don't know.

I'm sure the accelerated breakdowns due to running the lines on that hot floor are your fault too, Dave. Drink lots of water, you'll never know when a piss test will be demanded. I wonder what the OSHA regs are? Anyone know?

Apparently, there aren't any and apparently no distinction drawn between an office environment and a factory floor
