A ploy similar to that of the "Twitter files." Cherry-pick vast mountains of data to demonstrate that conservatives are once again the victims of "the Deep State." Awww, these poor persecuted souls.

Moreover, McCarthy is giving this information to Carlson, whose lies (along with those of his fellow Fox propagandists) helped spur the violent insurrection. He is now the person designated by the Speaker of the House to turn this into more disinformation.

James O’Keefe, the embattled leader of the conservative group Project Veritas, has been removed from his position amid a series of questions about his oversight of the organization, according to a speech he gave to the group.

LOL. Between the Fox News Dominion scandal, NewsMax getting booted from DirectTV and Project Veritas going down in (legal) flames, the choice of platform to get one's fix of conservative lies is dwindling.

Any minute now I expect to see a flood of comments on online news articles about "How much the MSM lies". Gotta deflect from the news that tRump and his enablers knew he never won the election and how much they lied to stir up the Jan 6 insurrection. When pressed, the same ones that say he's never been indicted for anything will be the same ones to say there's no proof he himself (despite what those who've been convicted say) instigated the insurrection.

O'Keefe told Project Veritas staff this morning that he would start a rival group and accused internal adversaries of "ruining our reputation in front of supporters and donors and leaking confidential information and fabricating stories."

Irony and hypocrisy are apparently not a thing in wingnut world.

That is highlarious, Finn. Who knew that conservatives were such simpering wimps?

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has provided exclusive access to a trove of U.S. Capitol surveillance footage from the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection to Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who has played down the deadly violence that occurred that day and claimed it was a “false flag” operation.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...-insurrection/

So, the House Speaker is giving exclusive access to the network who pushed the Big Lie for profit ultimately leading to a violent insurrection. Now they get to manufacture propaganda minimizing the violence they helped incite, again for profit. The shamelessness astounds.

When you get caught lying, lie some more of course.

Jake Tapper Blasts Fox’s ‘Blatant Lie’ After Democrat Was Assaulted

Just in case you thought that endorsing tRump's big lie thing was a one time deal. Expecting FAUX to not lie is like expecting a prostitute to say "I love you"... and mean it.

‘Incredibly damning:’ Fox News documents stun some legal experts

The disclosure of emails and texts in which Fox News executives and personalities disparaged the same election conspiracies being floated on their shows has greatly increased the chances that a defamation case against the network will succeed, legal experts say...

(E)mails and texts show that Fox’s hosts and executives knew the claims being peddled by then-president Donald Trump’s lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sydney Powell weren’t true — some employees privately described them as “ludicrous” and “mind blowingly nuts”— but Fox kept airing them to keep its audience from changing channels.

If so, the messages could amount to powerful body of evidence against Fox, according to First Amendment experts, because they meet a critical and difficult-to-meet standard in such cases.

“You just don’t often get smoking-gun evidence of a news organization saying internally, ‘We know this is patently false, but let’s forge ahead with it,’” said RonNell Andersen Jones, a University of Utah professor who specializes in media law...

Based on the messages revealed last week, “I think that Dominion both will and should prevail,” said Laurence Tribe, a former Harvard law professor. “If anything, the landmark this case is likely to establish will help show that New York Times v. Sullivan” is not an impossible legal hurdle to clear, as some critics have claimed.

'While it’s true that the Supreme Court [in Sullivan] has set a high bar for plaintiffs, a high bar doesn’t mean no bar,” said Sonja R. West, a First Amendment scholar at the University of Georgia law school “What we’re seeing in this case looks an awful lot like the exception that proves the rule. The First Amendment often protects speakers who make innocent or even negligent mistakes, but this does not mean they can knowingly tell lies that damage the reputation of others...”

“Those of us who study these sorts of defamation claims against the media are much more accustomed to cases that have a variety of pieces of circumstantial evidence of reckless disregard for the truth,” Andersen Jones said. “This filing is different.”

She noted that the internal messages show key figures at Fox casting aspersions on Fox’s own decisions. They also show an unusually clear timeline and motivation, she said, noting that Fox continued to broadcast allegedly defamatory statements even after Dominion had alerted the network that the claims were false. There’s also evidence that Fox executives decided to keep broadcasting the false statements because they feared losing viewers if they didn’t.

The folks over at Smartmatic have got to be licking their chops right about now. If this is indeed decided in Dominion's favor what are we likely to see in the way of appeals to the decision?

“There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution.” (Aldous Huxley, Tavistock Group, California Medical School, 1961)
Huxley didn't foresee Faux "News", but got pretty darn close to describing its viewership. Whell's World.
