Motorola History

Here is a brief history from MIT's Technilogy Review of some of the wireless innovations from Motorola. I thought this was interesting and that some of you may enjoy the pictures.

Back in the early 80's, Motorola made the best walkies on the market. And even their 1st cell, the one that looks like a walkie, would get out even if you were so far back in the woods that the chickens fornicated with the hoot owls.

Battery life wasn't much though.

It has been suggested that Google wants to buy that Motorola division for all its patents.

But it doesn't know what to do with all of it's people. It has been said that the Google folks are more comfortable with algorithms than with people.

Hey Chas, you hear about the owl that married a goat? They had a hootenany.
