On "Meet the Press" this morning, Michelle Bachmann was asked her opinion of this latest scandal....(Paraphrased);

"It's outrageous and disgraceful.......And now, there are rumors that it has spread into the military."

PFFFFFFTTTT!!!!! (Eyes bug out.) WTF????? HA, HA, HA, HA.......She honestly thinks soldiers and sailors purchasing the services of prostitutes IS SOMETHING NEW? What sort of sheltered life has THAT Pollyanna led? I almost fell out of the chair. When I was in the Navy, thirty years ago, guys would save up cash for weeks before pulling into port, just to make sure they had sufficient funds for whores and booze. That's the real world. I could go on for hours telling stories of the debaucherous bacchanalia that took place............

This just goes to show how utterly and absolutely disconnected from reality these people really are. Amazing, truly amazing.

Well, honestly I can understand the security concern aspect.

It was the naive comment about military folks using prostitutes that amazed me. But, I guess it shouldn't have, given the source. These are the same people who keep insisting everything was fine and dandy prior to the Obama administration........Believing blatant nonsense, reassigning blame and covering up their own stinking turds is their forte'.

This is not a light matter. Prostitutes are often used a a way to blackmail....especially vulnerable to such methods are those who are terrified of wives and love ones finding out.

Indeed. Just ask Eliot Spitzer (among others). As for military men chasing whores, there's certainly nothing new there. When I lived in Fulda, Germany (the first line of defense against the Russian hordes), there was a whorehouse right outside of the main gate of the base. It did a booming business on payday. It was fully legal in Germany and wholly tolerated by the American brass.

Then, of course, there are the steam & cream barbershops (haircuts are offered with other simultaneous services) outside of US bases throughout Asia.

I have two reactions.

Yes you are correct. There are many people who can be blackmailed in this fashion.

on the other hand the idea that indeed some people can be blackmailed by a girl who provides sex is just insane to me. What I don't understand is why someone would go to a hooker if they are so shallow as to be scared if mommy finds out.
