Lara Logan, the Fox ‘Investigative Journalist’ Who Keeps Falling for Antifa Hoaxes
Fox "News" has repeatedly used Logan to lend credibility to its “antifa” coverage, but she seems to have trouble distinguishing between hoaxes and credible information.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/lara-l...-antifa-hoaxes

Quote:
President* Donald Trump and his allies have repeatedly claimed antifa is a shadowy group behind nationwide protests and the violence that occurred during some of them—even though the FBI found “no intelligence indicating antifa involvement” in the May 31 protests in Washington, D.C., and antifa is literally never mentioned in the DOJ’s first round of prosecutions. Nevertheless, Logan has been utilized by Fox to lend journalistic cachet to such allegations.

But a review of Logan’s reporting—both online and on Fox News—shows a clear pattern of repeatedly falling for obvious hoaxes and passing along eye-popping but completely unsubstantiated claims.

Fox "News" publishes digitally altered and misleading images of Seattle demonstrations

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/13/media...est/index.html

Quote:
Fox News published digitally altered and misleading images on its website's homepage Friday that made a demonstration in Seattle, in which a group of largely peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters have occupied six city blocks, appear violent and dangerous.

The deceitful tactic was called out by The Seattle Times. The local newspaper reported that when it asked Fox News about the images, the network removed them.

Fox News' depiction of the demonstration mirrors much of right-wing media's attempt to portray it as menacing. Protesters have declared a small slice of Seattle an "autonomous zone" after clashes with authorities led police to evacuate a precinct. While there have been some sightings of armed individuals, the area has remained largely peaceful with people gathering for food, speeches, and movie screenings.
Faux doesn't have its own fact checkers, obviously. Nor any journalistic standards.

Faux News Earns Their Moniker

A couple of years ago a local Fox affiliate covered a BLM protest (in DC I think). It wasn't live but recorded and broadcast later. Somewhere between the recording and broadcasting a chant of "Killer cops belong in cell blocks" was altered to "Kill a cop - Kill a cop". One of the officers who was on the scene saw the broadcast and alerted the person organizing the protest. There was the on air apology to event organizers for the "error". The producer was suspended for a day. The reporter and cameraman were fired.

" Fox News regrets these errors,” the note read. " Errors my ass. Their only regret is that they got caught.

Fox “News“ Argues Viewers Don't Assume Fucker Carlson Reports Facts

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/th...r-suit-1298999

Quote:
“ What we're talking about here, it’s not the front page of The New York Times. It’s 'Tucker Carlson Tonight,' which is a commentary show,” a lawyer for Fox News argued while defending a lawsuit from Karen McDougal.
Well, at least they’re admitting that Fucker is a disgusting piece of shit liar...

That's about as big a whopper as McEnany saying she wouldn't lie.

James Poniewozik @poniewozik

Events like this Hannity-Trump interview are complete propaganda. But I’m also not sure they do Trump any actual good other than reassure him that someone still loves him. It’s starting to feel like palliative care.

Reminds me of those New York hospital CV 19 hospital room images that turned out to be from Italy.

One trusts everything they see on the MSM at their peril. You have to go to multiple sources.

I reiember a few years ago the republican party had a photo of a building in some story or invitation for something. Unfortunately, the person that yanked the photo off the internet grabbed a photo of a different building from the one that was the subject of the event, but it happened to have the same name.

One of the great things about the internet and the opposing viewpoints is that more and more, they are keeping each other honest. And that is a good thing.
