God Wants You to Spray and Pray!

New "Crusader" model AR-15 has a Bible verse and other 'special' inscriptions.

Quote:
Ben “Mookie” Thomas, a former Navy Seal and spokesman for Spike’s Tactical, told the Orlando Sentinel he wanted a rifle that no devout Muslim would touch.

"Off the cuff I said I'd like to have a gun that if a Muslim terrorist picked it up a bolt of lightning would hit and knock him dead," Thomas told the newspaper.

The gun, which retails for $1,395, features three settings on the safety selector: "Peace," "War" and "God Wills It."

I see this as enabling better gun control. Anyone who believes an inscription will keep a Muslim from picking up a weapon should be certified as too crazy to own a gun.

I suggest an inscription that says "thou shall not kill" and see if that would reduce gun violence. Just a shameless marketing ploy that features god, religion and prejudice. But I predict robust sales of this 'Christian Gun'.

When the marketing of a tactical firearm gets tied to Biblical fundamentalist it may be time to review the 2nd Amendment for a rational reason to continue as-is.

The 1st amendment is generous and broadly written, in spite of Scientology and avaricious phony televangelists, I've not suggested it be reviewed.
The intent of the 2nd however may well be outdated and need some review.
The first Amendment entitles folks to endulge their mystical bullshit and the 2nd has it's own burden of mystical bullshit without piling more on with theocratic bullshit.
