And food stamp president is not as bad as the word in question....if it was we would not let Newt get away with using it. I know that much.
I was just suggesting that it was one of the code words used to reach a particular section of the GOP base that Newt was courting.

Of course.....but certain terms provoke a visceral reaction that cannot be matched by other less offensive words is what I was trying to get across.
I do not like Newt's characterization either.

It was Jim.

As for the term "Food Stamp President" I think it's every bit as bad as the word "nigger", maybe worse because I think I know exactly what the subtext of that term is and exactly who he is talking to when he uses it.

That old "plausible deniability" trick doesn't work on an old Dude like me that's been around the block a few times.

That word in today's world basically translates into saying to another person that you are less than human.

food stamp president while obnoxious does not even come close.

now my thread that I started is beginning to take on a theme I do not like. Par for the course here.

After 47 pages a thread had better be somewhere different than where it started, unless we all have Alzheimer's and can't remember what we said already....

I disagree.

Let me translate the code phrase "Food Stamp President" for you.

I'll probably get in trouble for this, but here goes.
