This is where the Left and Right differ the most noticeable in press stories on job performance. The Left will willingly criticize openly the short comings and failures of their guy. But the Right will circle the wagons as a default, stay the line support long after the facts show otherwise. I will tell all that this President has fallen short of my expectations. But still know he was 300 times better the anything from the Republican Party.

Of course, though not with the vehemence with which the GOP distanced themselves from Dubya. In politics, it's all about the next election.

Any politician will throw anybody - wife, child or parent - under the bus if he/she thinks it will help. Look at the McDonnell trial in Richmond. He's throwing his wife of 38 years under the bus in full view of the world to save his own ass.

And I have no doubt that Obama is OK with taking one for the team.
