Senegal's quiet COVID success: Test results in 24 hours, temperature checks at every store, no fights over masks

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ic/5659696002/

If a third-world "shithole" country can handle this pandemic FAR better than our current corrupt administration, what does that make us? A fourth-world "shithole"? Thanks, Donny!

Science editor says Trump 'flat-out lied' about COVID-19, demoralizing scientific community

https://thehill.com/policy/healthcar...9-demoralizing

Quote:
The editor of the leading academic journal Science wrote in an editorial published Friday that President Trump "flat-out lied" to the American people based on comments revealed this week to journalist Bob Woodward.

"As he was playing down the virus to the public, Trump was not confused or inadequately briefed: He flat-out lied, repeatedly, about science to the American people," wrote the editor, H. Holden Thorp. "These lies demoralized the scientific community and cost countless lives in the United States."

Thorp wrote Friday that "playing it down meant lying about the fact that he knew the country was in grave danger."

"A U.S. president has deliberately lied about science in a way that was imminently dangerous to human health and directly led to widespread deaths of Americans," Thorp added. "This may be the most shameful moment in the history of U.S. science policy."

Has Any American Killed More Americans Than Donald Trump?
THE NEW ABNORMAL

https://www.thedailybeast.com/has-an...n-donald-trump

Quote:
“No American has killed more of their fellow Americans in this country than Donald Trump, except for Robert E. Lee and Jefferson fucking Davis,” he says. “No one has a body count to rival Trump’s. He knew it. He knew it was there. He did it. He let it happen. It is the most unbelievable and horrifying outcome that we can imagine.”

Molly adds, “Mike Pence was at a pro-life event the other day. And I was thinking about the irony, right? This administration has killed 100,000 plus plus plus people. And they’re talking about embryos. Like, it’s almost beyond parody.”

Coronavirus update: CDC changes — then deletes — new guidance on airborne transmission

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/coron...164441858.html

Politics trumps science, yet again, with this utterly corrupt administration. How ANYONE can be ignorant enough to still support the Orange Shitstain at this point is simply astonishing.

More corruption from Trump.

This is becoming very scary, we can no longer trust our government.

White House on 200,000 Coronavirus Deaths: Call Us When 2 Million of You Are Dead
Apparently a heckuva lot more people are going to have to die before the administration takes this COVID-19 thing seriously.

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020...navirus-deaths

Quote:

What’s the White House’s official comment on the matter? Kayleigh McEnany is happy to answer that question.

Asked by CNN’s Jim Acosta on Tuesday, “What do you say to Americans who are outraged about [the country hitting 200,000 deaths] and blame this administration for so many lives lost?” McEnany, who cut her teeth shilling for the Republican National Committee, responded: “As you’ve heard several doctors in the task force note from this podium we were looking at the prospect of 2 million people potentially perishing from the coronavirus in this country. We grieve when even one life is lost, but the fact we have come nowhere near that number is a testament to this president taking immediate action.”

In other words, 1.8 million more people are going to have to die before the Trump administration entertains the prospect of taking this virus seriously and maybe taking a shred of responsibility for allowing it to gain a foothold in the country and run rampant thereafter. (Just fucking with you—they’ll never do that.) Also, the 2 million projected deaths were if the government did absolutely nothing to stop the coronavirus—luckily for the country, various governors and local officials did—so it’s not really something to brag about. Also, for those of you keeping up at home, the White House is still claiming that Trump “never downplayed” the virus, despite the fact that not only is he on tape admitting as much, he confirmed his decision to downplay it in a room full of people earlier this month.
