Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Emerson Lake & Palmer - ST
Hum - You'd Prefer an Astronaut
Son Volt - Wide Swing Tremolo
Led Zepplin - Remasters

We had a white elephant exchange last night, and I came home with a lava lamp. That made spinning the Zep essential.

Listening to Gentle Giant last night got me exploring for stuff I haven't heard. I found one I really like. It's "Live in Stockholm '75". As far as I can tell, it first appeared in 2009 (on CD, of course). Why it took so long to get this out is a mystery to me.

Gentle Giant was one of the groups that Frank Zappa really admired. I think the feeling was mutual. There are a lot of riffs and melodic themes on this CD that sound a lot like things I've heard on Zappa albums. I wonder who came up with them first

The one I found last summer...the Maggie 175cc...it has 4 6v6 and two 5y3gt rectifiers...sort of rare one I think....I have put in Russian PIOs and now will change the can caps so they do not fry my amp ...

it sounds ok...a bit harsh on high ends ...I will buy some nos tubes soon too..some
Russian 6P6S drop ins

once I get the power supply caps changed I will run it regularly...it does not sound as nice as my Jolida 102b but of course that could be my fault....

You were a big help showing me how to get rid of the balance pot and clone the channels....thanks!

You're welcome. Here's a good tip on it, the electrolytic C2 on the schematic should be increased for better bass response. You can increase the value to 100 UF or higher. In my 175FF I went 330UF, mounted topside. It is where the output transformers get their power.
As to being harsh in the highs? Did you replace all of the resistors? I'll PM you my contact info if you would like to talk about it. Cheers, Bob

Four Way Street-CSNY The electric side. Long Time Gone is sounding especially good tonight after watching the movie 'Warhorse'.

I know-I know, schmaltzy Spielberg but it wasn't half bad.
