See my post above. Hollings was governor when it was passed by the legislature but that isn't the same as saying that Hollings "did it".

I don't know but I do know that there was a non-binding referendum on the 1994 Republican primary ballot asking whether the flag should go or stay atop the dome. The vote was 3 to 1 (75%) in favor of it staying.

Means nothing. A Dem stuck it up there & a Rep is gonna take it down.

Nice try but no. If a Rep was going to take it down, that should have been last week. Even now all that's decided is that the SC legislature is going to talk about it, in the summer that is.

Retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, eBay, Kmart, Target are going to bring this down. And a few GOP candidates for President are going to be hung too. Some states such as Georgia and Virginia are also looking to ban this flag in the public domain. So it's public and economic pressure and no Gopper is going to get credit.
