I thank the life of Christ for providing me with a conscience. However I cannot abide a lot of happenings especially in the Old Testament. The killing of the first born is especially hard to digest.
I beieve that there is a God. But does God wants us to woriship him? Question like this bugs me and leave me ambivalent to religion and there is also the fear of the after life. A fear which can get to the best of our scientist.

A conscience is what one develops after one discovers there is no oversight by Santa Claus, but realizes that the Tooth Fairy is still capable of knocking out all of one's teeth should he be pissed off bad enough.

Just a thought.
