"The GTI isn't comparable to the Miata," to which you responded "Of course it is."

And it still isn't comparable, whether or not you chose to compare them. If you chose to compare a Rolls Royce to a Kia, that still doesn't make them comparable.

I compared them and found the Miata lacking. I also in the end found the GTI lacking and selected a hard top convertible with 2 doors and 4 seats. All told I compared six cars, all comparable within the context of the comparison.

Cool. The newest Miata, though significantly improved, is indeed somewhat of a bare-bones vehicle (deliberately) lacking certain amenities. That's what makes it attractive to roadster fans. I'd buy one of the new MX-5 RF's if I could fit into it, but I don't come close. FWIW, I currently drive a Mazda6, a car offering a great driving experience, reliability, looks and fuel economy at a very affordable price.

I been getting 20mpg average and like the ride.

Do have a restored 70 Karmann Ghia with a bigger hammer under the hood owned since 1977, but now in my sixties it sits. To hard to get in/out of and no AC or heat! Does get 35MPG @ 70 though...

Under Covered California, it would cost me around $800 a month (practically a mortgage payment) and receive nothing because there is a $6,000 deductible that I would have to pay out of pocket before it would kick in. I don't have health coverage because of this. I think these are the people they are talking about.

I know a Millionaire who is "smart" and gets medicaid and another who works as a Painter and can't afford Insurance.

So you would be paying $800 X 12 = $9,600 a year in premiums, plus a $6,000 deductible for a grand total of $15,600 out of your own pocket before your insurance would cover the first penny?
