Fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said on Tuesday that no members of the Gang of Eight congressional leaders “objected” when he informed them in May 2017 that the FBI had opened a counterintelligence investigation into President Donald Trump over his ties to Russia.

So, McConnell and Ryan were in the room and they still remain quiet when Trump talks of a coup and treason.

Some irony here. This is being revealed while Trump is acting up in Venezuela.

Correct. At some point the initial charge PALES once the scale of peripheral corruption is exposed.
Nixons presidency didn't fail because a few guys broke into an office. Nixons presidency failed because the investigation exposed the rest of the rot he and his crew were involved in.
G. Gordon Liddy..... What a total freak.

You mean where he warned Venezuelans about the evils of Soshialism, as if they haven't already experienced it? The problem with Trump is that half the world thinks he's a moron...….and every time he opens his mouth he confirms it.

What is obvious is that the FBI was poorly led.

Nope. Comey and McCabe were experienced, qualified and ethical professionals faced with a no-win situation - an election where both candidates were under criminal investigation and one was apparently in cahoots with the Russians and doing everything he could to undermine and discredit the FBI.

And the inspector general report, and Comey's announcement re Clinton at a critical moment?
Now we have self serving book tours.

Comey's announcement didn't happen in a vacuum. The original investigation into Hillary's email resulted from a publicly announced referral from the House, so the public was made aware (by the House) that Hillary was under investigation. The House deliberately cast a dark cloud over Hillary during the campaign and Comey felt thereby obligated to lift the cloud when he found no criminal conduct. Then the Wiener laptop fiasco was leaked by the New Jersey FBI office in coordination with Rudy. In short, Comey was forced into his unprecedented actions actions by an unprincipled and unethical GOP House committee and Trump fans in the NJ office of the FBI. Put the blame where it belongs.

The White House's new argument against collusion with Russia is nonsensical
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/02/22/p...ion/index.html
Quote:
(CNN) On Friday morning, this exchange happened between White House press secretary Sarah Sanders and CNN's Joe Johns:
Johns: You said there was no need to collude with Russia but there have been so many indictments and contacts with Russians. How do you balance that?
Sanders: It's real simple to me. The President far and away was the better candidate. He had a better message and he outworked Hillary Clinton. That's why he's President. He didn't need to, nor did he, collude with the Russians. Pretty simple.

Wow. Ugly Sara and Whell must be twins. Their “logic” is identical. Sad!
