We have used mono seed. Why? profit for the few once again.
Well Modge back at the height of the Cold War Monsanto ran a nuclear lab called the Mound in Ohio. My late wife worked there as a young woman. She was over-exposed three times and she just died last year of ovarian cancer. To put it plainly Monsanto's careless handling of radioactive materials and other dangerous chemicals killed a lot of young women and men who worked there.

Hungarians Just Destroyed All Monsanto GMO Corn Fields
Posted by admin on August 24, 2016

Hungary has taken a bold stand against biotech giant Monsanto and genetic modification by destroying 1000 acres of maize found to have been grown with genetically modified seeds, according to Hungary deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Lajos Bognar.

Unlike many European Union countries, Hungary is a nation where genetically modified (GM) seeds are banned. In a similar stance against GM ingredients, Peru has also passed a 10 year ban on GM foods.

We are possibly the only nation that allows dairy farmers to inject cows with Monsanto's rBST growth hormone. No other western nation allows it.

Trouble is that Monsanto has such a big revolving door with the government they get away with murder.
