We were chartered as a constitutional republic and not a democracy. Early Grease, on the other hand was set up more on the principles of a democracy.

Let the parsing begin.

We've come a long ways since 1789. Some might say for the better, some might say for the worse. I'll take my glass half full.

Well the patriot act and homeland security might have took some of the air out of the balloon.with some of the new provisions we are walking the line close to a dictatership.but I am not in the big league neither I am just a junior cub tryin to hang with the big boys.

Interesting article, with taken from the text.

"But late in his life James Madison scrawled out another letter, one never addressed. In it he declared that no government can be perfect, and "that which is the least imperfect is therefore the best government."

Pretty much sums it up.

The Patriot Act and Homeland Security,In my opinion are necasary Evils, but in place to make the Country as A whole Safer. But as a side efect it Takes some of our basic Freedoms away. But it can be argurd all day long that in order to have Freedom You have to sacrifice Freedom.I think we All realize there will never be a true democracy and therfore no true freedom as long as others Call the shots for the way we live In this country.
