I'm curious why this is would be regarded as a stellar bit of diplomacy. I've honestly not made up my mind about it.

However, it does represent a massive shift in US foreign policy in the region. While I certainly understand the potential value of "engagement", I also see Iran potentially seeing this as a "win" in the use of the type of nuclear blackmail that North Korea is infamous for. Also, in terms of negotiating approach and strategy, I"m wondering why some of our allies had to learn about the deal in the press.

"Grinning idiots" is good, "smilin' bastards" is better.

That's what Pop used to call them.

...and the latest from Breitbart's wingnut talking points for dummies. They are bellowing "Worse than MUNICH!!" once again.

"President Obama’s cowardly deal with the Iranian regime – a regime dedicated to the destruction of Israel, pursuing nuclear weapons in violation of multiple United Nations resolutions, and the persecution of Christians – marks the most ignominious moment in western foreign policy in decades. The easy comparison is to British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain’s appeasement of Hitler in Munich in 1938, when he signed allowed Hitler to consolidate his gains in the Sudetenland on the bare promise of no further aggression in Europe." http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2...se-than-Munich

I'm with you, I'm not sure whether this is a good idea or not.

It's probably inconsequential. Iran is going to get nukes sooner or later, whether anyone likes it or not.

yeah Obie's skin tone resembles Kenya more than his mom's home state of Kansas...so naturally he is another Chamberlain giving it up to a dictator.

What part of Afghanistan or Iraq did we say it was ok for Iran to invade and subjugate? When does the Anschluss start?

Republicans are becoming like Pat Robertson....you just cannot take anything that comes out of their collective mouths seriously anymore. Pat Robertson would ask for donations at least he does not shut down the government.

I mean does anyone here actually listen to Ann Coulter?

I figure if you can piss of Netanyahu and the Saudis in one fell swoop, you're probably doing something right.
