Actually, I have a problem with forced compliance. Where do you draw the line between reasonable controls and tyranny.

I, for one, think that this is a limit best not tested. Allow people to make their own choices.

Chas
Particularly when we see the NEA has a political agenda they are teaching in the schools.

All dictatorships of any stripe always control the schools.

How can we possibly even keep up the 'free' charade when we don't have control of our children?

I somewhat agree, but we have seen awful things done by doctors too. They are just as prone to mistakes - and hubris - as anyone else.

Not when the parents are idiots and/or sociopaths. I have friends that homeschooled their kids and did an excellent job. Mainly because both parents are intelligent, highly educated and disciplined themselves.

But, leave ALL parents totally free to pull their kids from school and attempt to educate them at home? If you think ignorance is rampant now, just let the ignorant start teaching the ignorant and watch what happens.

A bigger audience for Beck, would be my guess.............

My wife's cousin, complete with her high school degree, home schooled/schools her kids. Her eldest washed out of juco in less than a semester. Just could not handle the school work. Admitted, that is anecdotal, but is an example of someone without training messing up.

Regards,

D-Ray
