Malaysia Airlines Missing Plane What they know!

No much it seems to me. Area keeps getting larger and wider.

Just goes to show us that even with all the advances in technology they still will not be sufficient.

I want to know why a pilot or any crew member can turn off the circuit breaker for the transponder on commercial aircraft anyway?

Yeah, they're thinking the plane may have headed west toward India. WTF??

As for the transponder, if the plane was diverted westward, and if it came down in deep water, you'd have ti be right on top of it to hear it. Pretty freakin' tough when you don't know where to look.

It's all Obama's fault.

Now China has supplied satellite images south east of original area suspected.

A transponder is a device used to id a plane in the air it is not the black box that records intel of the aircraft's performances. BTW the black box is orange and uses a wire recorder for operation. A transponder will send out a signal telling what aircraft it is to the ground station radar in flight.

I knew that.

Really, I did but I got confused. The Triple 7 has triple redundancy for critical systems, I believe. In the case of the transponder, the last system is battery so it's pretty hard to imagine a scenario short of the plane being vaporized where the transponder would just go dead.... unless, of course, it was simply turned off as you say. Curious.

Hard to imagine but there are circuit breakers available to the pilots for the transponders. Probably for troubleshooting a power problem or such. No such thing for the black boxes.

I have been following this story very closely. I do not think Malaysia is coming clean on this incident and incredibly the Chinese authorities were accusing the Malaysian authorities of withholding information. And Vietnam has suspended their search activities. More going on there than what can be seen and a total mystery so far.
