I've decided that we need another thread on Russian hacking to show the other side of the argument. The true side.

The reality is that the CIA has presented no hard evidence that Russia is behind the hacking of the DNC’s or or Clinton’s private home server. The excuse is given that the Agency doesn’t want to disclose any of its sources, so the reader is left with the pathetic plea, from both the Agency and the White House: “Trust us.”

But why would anyone trust the CIA or the White House on anything? We’re talking about an agency and a Executive Branch that between them are known to have lied (during the GW Bush years) about anthrax labs in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, lied about what were aluminum tubes imported to make irrigation equipment being evidence of missile-building, lied about Ira’s links to Al Qaeda, and (during the Obama years) lied about Syria’s government using Sarin gas on its own people in Damascus, lied about the details of the killing of Osama Bin Laden, lied about the role of a murderous CIA agent captured by Pakistani police while posing as a US consular employee, lied about the extent of National Security Agency Spying both at home and abroad, and lied about Russia invading Ukraine and shooting down a civilian Malaysian jumbo jet.

This morning I watched with delight as my hero Jimmy Dore jumped up and down on the warm corpse of Representative Adam Schiff, who last week was mauled to death in a brutal one-sided beatdown by Fox News pundit and Pee Wee Herman swagger jacker Tucker Carlson. My God it was glorious. In the video Jimmy played, oligarchy fluff girl Schiff was insinuating that the Russian government was behind the WIkiLeaks drops, and Carlson repeatedly challenged him to look straight at the camera and tell the American people that he knew for a fact that the Russian government was behind the Podesta leaks. Schiff refused to, instead equivocating and dodging and eventually getting so frustrated that he resorted to the tactic more and more establishment Democrats are resorting to: accusing Carlson of carrying water for Putin.

The claims that the Russian government hacked US voting machines are absurd. Voting machines are not connected to the Internet. To hack a voting machine you have to be physically in proximity to the machine and use a hand held device. The machines can be programmed to throw the vote count to one candidate or the other, and there are other ways to interfere with elections. Possibly if a foreign power had server presence in the US, some precinct reports of results could be intercepted and altered, although a voice check over the telephone is an easy way to verify the electronic transmission. What is clear is that Russia cannot hack the voting machines.

What about the claims that Russia hacked Hillary’s emails and used a network of 200 Internet websites to convince the American people to vote for Trump? Wikileaks, which released the emails, said they were a leak, not a hack, and that they did not come from Russians. The FBI and the Director of National Intelligence do not support the CIA’s claims. Or should we say claims attributed to the CIA as apparently the source of the claims, like the source of PropOrNot, is unknown.

Why not start with an investigation of PropOrNot and what they are up to? We also need an investigation why Americans living in big cities on the NE and West coasts were immune to Russian fake news, whereas the geographical bulk of the country succumbed to the Russian fake news

No one is claiming that the Russian hackers hacked into our voting machines from what I have read. Suspicion is that they hacked into both parties election apparatus.

It's being implied.

Of course the people doing the implying know it's impossible so they are not saying it outright. But they also know a certain number of people will make that leap of assumption.

Trump could make that claim and make it stick but he probably does not want to.
Face it, Trump and his allies have used scorched earth tactics to gain the presidency and now it's payback time, and people like me just don't care what happens one way or the other.
