NY Times has that story too. But Department of Justice now denies it. Who do you believe?

Comey did return to DC yesterday and is now a private citizen. We'll see if he denies the story. Not like the private sector where he would have been given a golden handshake.

Interesting how Comey has gone from villain to good guy, back to villain and now a martyr. I am sure agents are knocking on his door and heck he will command a $1M speaking fees as long as Trump is in office.

Here's an interesting side item I stumbled on. Also out at Justice is Mary McCord, an Obama appointee who had been Acting Assistant Attorney for National Security. As such, she has been in charge of the department that's been running--guess what--the Russia election interference investigation.

Her departure was announced back in April, and is voluntary--ostensibly at least....

If nothing else, his speaking and writing will be strictly limited by security regulations. The FBI will, for example, have the right to review and censor anything he writes. Not sure about prior review of speeches and interviews, but they can certainly arrest him if he's deemed to have spilled anything classified.

Hmmm, should we believe the USA newspaper of record, or the DOJ, run by Trump loyalist Jeff Sessions? Now that's a tough one...

There's probably a link to the vicious little troll playing attorney general somewhere, and he is a subject of the investigation.

Kremlin tweets during closed-door Oval Office meeting with Trump
Emily Tillett
2-3 minutes

In what was supposed to be a closed-door Oval Office meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, pictures have emerged of meetings between President Trump, Mr Lavrov and Russian Envoy Sergey Kislyak via Russian media and Russian government social media accounts.

The Russian-sourced pictures are the only public record of the meetings as of this writing, largely because members of the White House press pool — who are charged to report on the president's whereabouts and what happens inside the White House — were not allowed into the meeting Wednesday morning. No photos were taken by the White House press of the president's meeting with Lavrov and with Russian Envoy Sergey Kislyak.

Twitter accounts held by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Embassy provided a running commentary of highlights from Lavrov's Washington visit, including Lavrov's jibes with reporter's at the State Department regarding FBI Director James Comey's firing.

Following Lavrov's comments, the Ministry tweeted a photo of a handshake with Mr. Trump in the Oval Office.

The Russian embassy then followed up with a tweeted photo of Mr. Trump shaking hands with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, the same ambassador who is currently at the forefront of the ongoing investigation into Russia's meddling of the 2016 election.

The pictures and the rest

Trump will now appoint a new FBI director who will then be in charge of investigating Trump. We have to have an independent investigation free from Trump's interference.
