Yup.....bunch of silly laws filling prisons. Also the touchy subject of allowing those convicted for life with "smoking gun" evidence to continue to live.

The defense budget is another big one for me. If I was looking at good data then defense spending is at $1 trillion. If I heard right the "Obamacare" bill is projected to cost $1 trillion. How bout we cut defense spending in half for just two years and it will fully fund "Obamacare"? (I've probably got bad info on the numbers but ya'll get the idea)

The $ 1 Trillion number being bandied about is an inflated projected cost of the ACA over ten years. That is about one year's defense budget.

So, cut the defense budget by a measly 10% and the ACA is paid for with money to spare.

And we can use the change to expand the program, maybe even convertit inyo a single payer program.

I like this idea but with a bigger cut to pay for it quicker and to get to single payer quicker.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that the singlepayer concept is what we will get if the President is retained for another term. All the more reason for thinking and caring people to vote Obama 2012.
