I'm not surprised she declined to testify before the Star Chamber. I also noticed that they decided not to subpoena her. Probably because the only folks who wouldn't have been disgusted by it are "wingnut scum" on the left.

One can conspire via email and it appears she may have been involved in the illegal fake elector scheme.

The Star Chamber reference you parrot is simply too stupid for words, but here are a few to show how stupid:

The term star chamber refers pejoratively to any secret or closed meeting held by a judicial or executive body, or to a court proceeding that seems grossly unfair or that is used to persecute an individual.

The J6 Committee is neither a judicial nor executive body and its hearings are public. And most importantly, they have no power to prosecute crimes. Moreover, the courts have upheld J6 subpoenas, thereby validating its charter.

We could trace her history back to the Rose Law Firm in Arkansas, and the White Water scandal.

Definition of 'conspiracy'; when two or more people act in order to achieve a common goal.

This political swinging to the left, and swinging to the right is ridiculous. The power players are all corrupt (or so it seems).

"England swings like a pendulum do".

And yet, you appear to have found the words. Likely in the first return in your Google search. Scrolling down further, you might have seen this definition, which fits:

Definition of star-chamber
: characterized by secrecy and often being irresponsibly arbitrary and oppressive

I'd suggest the secrecy reference works well given the misleading characterization of the purpose of this committee. This bunch has zero interest in getting to the core of what happened on Jan 6th.

Also, a couple of highly speculative and circumstantially-evidenced newspaper articles about Thomas don't stack up to a cause to "throw her in jail".

LOL. The hearings are public and far from arbitrary and oppressive. Indeed, they are perhaps the best managed and most informative Congressional hearings in a generation. That's why the GOP hates them.

It's the GOP who has zero interest in getting to the core of what happened. If they did, they would have voted to approve the independent commission negotiated by their very own John Katko (R-PA). Instead, they describe Jan. 6 as a "normal tourist visit" and praise Jan. 6 insurrectionists. Here's Louie Gohmert presenting an American flag that flew over the Capitol to a rioter after she served her sentence.

Guys, guys... Reich-Wing media has deemed the Jan 6 hearings a "star chamber" so that's good enough for our man whell. The sore loser brigade ( the GOP ) withdrew from any participation in the hearings so they could call it partisan thereby legitimizing their calling it a political hit job. This seems to be OK for our resident Reich-Wing talking point aficionado too.

How do you arrive at this conclusion? Seems to me like its the other way around with multitudes of people declining and lawyering up to forgo the opportunity to tell us what happened. And why are so many other people also going to jail, some voluntarily after pleading guilty. Following is dated June 29th 2022.

Quote:
Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, will not testify to the House January 6 Committee as of now, her lawyer told the committee in a letter Tuesday
And while it was OK to yell 'Lock her up" as the FBI headed by a Republican declined to prosecute Hilary, but not OK say 'throw her in jail' when it comes to Ginny for her actions to overthrow an election?

Quote:
Key Facts

The House January 6 Committee has obtained email correspondence between Thomas and Eastman, the Washington Post first reported on June 15, as part of a tranche of documents a judge forced Eastman to turn over to the committee regarding his efforts to help Trump overturn his election loss.

The Post reported the emails “show that Thomas’s efforts to overturn the election were more extensive than previously known” but did not give any details about their contents, though Eastman and Thomas’ attorney Mark R. Paoletta claimed Thomas had merely invited Eastman to speak to a group she’s involved with about his post-election efforts.

Thomas also corresponded with then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, text messages previously obtained by the committee reveal, sending at least 21 texts to Meadows in the aftermath of the election encouraging efforts to overturn the results (which Paoletta claimed Tuesday were simply her “express[ing] concerns” about the election).

Thomas told Meadows to “make a plan” and “release the Kraken” by soliciting help from far-right attorneys like Sidney Powell, for instance, and said on November 4, 2020, Trump should not concede because “it takes time for the army who is gathering for his back.”

She also contacted 29 Republican Arizona lawmakers after the election and encouraged them to choose “alternate” electors who would say Trump won the state instead of President Joe Biden, according to emails reported by the Post, though Paoletta argued she did not draft the letters she sent and “simply pushed a few buttons” to send them.

Thomas attended the rally on January 6 that preceded the attack on the Capitol building for a “short time,” she told the Washington Free Beacon in March, and the New Yorker and New York Times reported she served as an “intermediary” between groups that organized the event in the lead-up to it, which Thomas denies.
And here comes the flip. First willin to testify, then decline calling it a with hunt. In Ginny's case, she actually looks like one.

Quote:
According to a copy of the letter published by Politico, Paoletta said Tuesday that while Thomas is still willing to testify “as a means of clearing her name,” he’s concerned she’s “been asked to come in to continue the baseless harassment she has been subjected to since January 6.”
This is like saying "I am honest, I want to tell the truth but if telling the truth is going to get me in trouble I plead the 5th."

Whell will come along and declare "that's what the 5th is for", to help people from not having to tell the truth". The Repugnant flip-flop and why all them lie through their teeth, they have the 5th and the 2nd working for them.

Russia spent millions in secret global political campaign, U.S. official says
https://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...ical-campaign/

...a whole lot of it on the Orange Buffoon's fascist candidacy.

Quote:
Russia has secretly funneled at least $300 million to foreign political parties and candidates in more than two dozen countries since 2014 in an attempt to shape political events beyond its borders, according to a new U.S. intelligence review.

Moscow planned to spend hundreds of millions of dollars more as part of its covert campaign to weaken democratic systems and promote global political forces seen as aligned with Kremlin interests, according to the review...

A State Department démarche Monday to U.S. embassies in more than 100 countries described the alleged Russian activities and suggested steps the United States can take to push back, including sanctions and travel bans. The cable, which officials provided to reporters, named Russian oligarchs it said were involved in what it described as “financing schemes,” including Yevgeniy Prigozhin and Aleksandr Babakov. Prigozhin, who is wanted by the FBI, was charged by U.S. officials in 2018 with attempting to interfere in the 2016 U.S. elections.

Durham probe fizzles and dies

MAGAMorons had SUCH high hopes for this sham “investigation”. What a ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars.

And the only guy in the FBI found to have done anything wrong (he doctored an email for which he got probation), Kevin Clinesmith, was discovered by the DOJ-IG and not Durham.

And the crown jewel of his investigation was the prosecution of Michael Sussman. His trial was an absolute shitshow and a travesty of justice, resulting in an acquittal in a matter of hours.

And now that Geoffrey Berman's book is out showing that Barr did indeed use the DOJ as Trump's personal law firm responsible for attacking his enemies and protecting his friends, it's more clear than it ever was that the Durham investigation was a sham from the get-go.
