Depends on how much current the preamp draws. According to wiki an A23 battery has an energy capacity of about 55 milliamp-hours. That is equivalent to 1 milliamp for 55 hours, 1/2 milliamp for 110 hours, etc. Double those times for two batteries.

what about this http://www.ebay.com/itm/HIGH-CAPACTI...item2c73e9690a Larger mah value means longer lasting time of battery.
Duration of power up to 8 hours.
Capacity of battery: 1800mAh.
Input voltage: DC 12.6V.
Output voltage: DC 12V .

Two of those will give you +/- 12V.

In series. The +/- junction goes to the "0" or "GND" terminal of the preamp. The remaining + and - battery poles go to their respective preamp terminals.

actualy it is 15volts

LM4610 + NE5532 Preamplifier tone board

Voltage: Dual AC15V-18V:

Circuit board size: 117X68MM (the potentiometer-free)

Potential functions: 3D, bass, treble, balance, volume

The distance between the potentiometer: 25MM

Two switching functions: on the left for the 3D switch, the right loudness switch

● Input impedance 30kω, low output impedance of 20ω;

● The volume adjustment range is 75dB; the balance adjustment ranges from 1 ~~ 20dB;

● bass adjustment (40Hz when) ± 15dB treble adjustment (16kHz) is ± 15dB;

● Total harmonic distortion is only 0.0003;

● SNR up to 80dB;

● Frequency width of 250kHz;

● The maximum signal input, the output voltage of 1.5V;

● Two channel balance error is less than 1.5dB;

● Power common-mode rejection ratio of 60dB. contact me for the datasheet

Batteries are wired in series with the "joint point" being center neutral ground. The batteries can then be charged in series, after disconnecting from the preamp, with an appropriate 24 volt charger. This is how I do it but with a double pole double throw charging transfer switch.
