AUSTIN (The Borowitz Report)—In his first official act since acquiring the social-media company, Elon Musk has deleted every Twitter account but his.

Minutes after the acquisition was announced, the two hundred million people who had Twitter accounts found that they could no longer tweet, and that the Tesla C.E.O.’s tweets were the only ones that appeared on the site.

In an official statement, Musk said that he deleted everyone else’s accounts to address “the No. 1 problem plaguing Twitter: the relentless flood of voices inferior to mine.”

The billionaire said that he would consider letting people other than himself back on Twitter “on a case-by-case basis.”

“If people can show that they have something to say that’s as smart as what I’ve got to say, they will get their accounts back,” he said. “So, not likely.”

Never joined. Turned out to be a good decision in light of this gazillionaire buying it lock, stock and commode. Even my Fartfacebook account is threadbare and defunct.

Reading in the Post it appears that California residents have a thermonuclear option regarding one's online footprint, much like the EU, I assume? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Califo...er_Privacy_Act

I thank Odin that I live in such an enlightened state where the GQP is a weak hot mess relegated to Sandy Eggo, Addledanto, Bakersfield, Lodi and Shastanistan.

Chicks LOL! Awesome.

Smart people can be so darn stupid.

Bob I wonder how long that will last. In Ohio the statehouse banned speed cameras but the state Supreme Court overturned it.

We've got this, per Prop. 24 "The California Privacy Rights Act will take effect on January 1, 2023, applying to personal data collected on or after January 1, 2022.[8] The law cannot be repealed by the state legislature, and any amendments made by the legislature must be “consistent with and further the purpose and intent” of the Act.[9]"

"SAN FRANCISCO — Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter led to a more than $100 billion hit to Tesla’s stock Tuesday, significantly driving down the CEO’s fortune that he is plowing into his takeover of the social media giant.

Tesla’s stock dropped more than 12 percent, bringing its market capitalization down to $906 billion — compared with more than $1 trillion previously — a steep decline the day after Musk and Twitter reached an agreement for the Tesla CEO to take ownership at the company. Musk has pledged billions of dollars worth of his Tesla shares as collateral for his $44 billion takeover of Twitter. If Tesla’s value sinks, Musk could be required to shed some of his shares to meet his loan obligations, leading to a downward spiral in his net worth." WP

Good going, wunderkind!

This guy is looking more and more like a sad version of Howard Hughes.

Too bad Tesla investors are taking it over a barrel for Elon's dreams of dominating the more wretched corners of cyberspace. Hope he doesn't wreck SpaceX while he's at it.

Anyone in mind of Henry Ford and the Dearborn Independent debacle?
