Extreme vetting, the reason for the ban

So, the supposed reason behind this temporary ban was to give the intelligence community time to come up with better vetting procedures for immigrants/refugees.

Has anyone heard news about whether this process is underway? Have meetings been held? Has there been any outline describing some of the changes that will be made?

All of the focus has been on whether this ban is constitutional, but I have yet to hear anything about whether this supposed overhaul/improvement of the system has started.
