I'm running a half marathon.

Hey All,

Thought I'd share. I just got back from a run. 3.8 miles in 40:45. Pace calc says that's 10:43s. I've been training for a half marathon in mid May. Furthest I've ever run is seven miles and that was several years ago when I was in much better shape. I've kind of had it this time with being over weight and out of shape. I've lost eight pounds so far, down to 200. I bet I'm a lot less than that in a couple of months.

Today's run felt really good and I feel like I can do this now. Though running forty minutes is a lot less than running for two and a half hours. Long way to go yet, but I think I'll get there.

Take care,

Ed

Go for it, Ed! You'll get there!

I admire your determination dude. From your picture, I always thought you looked in pretty good shape, what with the super-hero cape and all. You need a shave though.

Regards,

D-Ray

As a matter of fact, I do need a shave...

Thanks guys. Three short runs Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday then 5 miles next Saturday. After today, I'm pretty sure I can do it. Shoot, pretty sure I could have done it today if I had to.

D-Ray, for the record, I look taller in person.

Good luck, Ed. I used to be a runner, but my knees revolted. Now it's swimming and biking. Give 'em hell. Make sure to pack a few cold ones in the cooler to celebrate your finish.

Wow and here I thought we only ran when chased
I say if you can get out and do it then good for anyone who will try, trust me you never know when something you take for granted can be taken from you! Good job man!!
I stepped on scale the other day and 213 showed up so my marathons seem to consist of how fast I can eat a sleeve of Oreo cookies

My Ex use to run the Marathon in Cleveland, I was her waterboy and official hug giver at finish..............oh yeah and foot rubber that night

213 was my all time high. Haven't been there for a little while, but when I saw 208 in December I decided I needed to do something.
