Seems like I got the Fox and Rabbit mixed up in this tale. It's the FOX (the REPs, that makes MUCH more sense eh?) that uses b'rer rabbit's vanity and temper to trap him on the tar baby.. So it's b'rer rabbit that says to the tar baby,

"'I'm gwine ter larn you how ter talk ter 'spectubble folks ef hit's de las' ack,' sez Brer Rabbit, sezee. 'Ef you don't take off dat hat en tell me howdy, I'm gwine ter bus' you wide open,' sezee.

Yup, if you don't talk correctly with us RESPECTABLE folks, we'll bust you wide open..
No, not really. Because the truth of it is that this babbling fool and her popularity with the right wing base speaks volumes about their mentality.....That of a wide-eyed fairy tale believing six year old.

So McKinney is an idiot as well. How does that change anything?

I heard poor Piper was upset with the media for ruining her vacation. When she grows up maybe she will understand that Mom is the one who stole her vacation and childhood.

or maybe she'll just be like mom and blame others

We shouldn't want our leaders to be "just like us" and "regular folks." We should want our leaders to be the best and brightest. OF COURSE they should understand and be able to think like, and empathize with "regular folks," but they should also possess levels of intelligence, insightfulness, understanding of other cultures and viewpoints, worldliness, and a diversity of life experience well beyond that of most "regular folks." That's part of what makes them "leaders" and not just part of the herd. Charisma counts too, and I'll give Palin that. She's charismatic. But beyond that she's... well, I'll ask those of you who support her to tell us what she's got behind the charisma and why she should be taken seriously as a potential leader.
I guess you are not a Biden fan. Come to think of it, the present white house occupant lacks in the diverse experience and worldly knowledge department. How do we ascertain someone's supposed superiority? Academic records? Heroism under fire? Rhetorical ability?

Biden isn't terribly articulate either, and I think that fact DOES make him less attractive as a leader. He also certainly commits his share of gaffes. However, he undeniably has a much greater grasp of world and national affairs than does Ms. Palin.

How do we ascertain who might be good leaders? The three items you mentioned are all a part. I disagree with your assertion about what Obama lacks. He has an impressive academic background with a specialty in constitutional law. He has political and life experience including both grass-roots, neighborhood level politics AND as a United States senator. Was he as experienced going into the presidency as most others? No. But he sure isn't a simpleton quitter and self-serving opportunist like Palin.

All y'all (that's plural)

I get the part where Palin is too lightweight to be Prez.. I do.. But I don't think the left gets it.. BlueStreak points out that she mirrors the general gullibility of the right. That MAY BE -- if she runs and gets traction in that party. But she also is playing agitator of left to the hilt. EVERYTHING she does is calculated to draw the left into the tar baby. Especially the media. Because they show THEIR ignorance everytime they attack her on manufactured or faulty grounds. Like this brief Paul Revere dust-up.. I actually went over to ABC news to pummel some shithead reporter who brought up this "no bells" deal and made a statement to the effect that "bells would have warned the enemy with which we were at war". They just lose their minds, their dignity, and professionalism when it comes to this woman..

I think the Biden/Palin debate was draw with a slight edge to Biden because of her evasiveness. But declarations from Biden that "Iraq should now be partitioned into 3 countries" are FAR more dangerous than seeing Russia from the deck at home. I can even see Obama sweating every time this guy gets near a microphone.

Somewhere, I just got tired of this NOT being a fair fight. Yeah Dave, Colbert took a valid shot. That's why he's got my respect. But the press is lazy, ignorant, and foolish and I'm not goin' to give THEM a pass either when the punch is below the belt.. And the partisian pile-on where when they are corrected about facts and history -- then go off and criticize her PERSONAL life and parenting skills. You can have that debate if you must. I'm only refereeing the game, not doing the locker room stuff..

Also she (McKinney) is not on the presidential hustle.
My personal assessment is that Palin takes her reality stardom seriously and this presidentitial "trip" is to create noise.... gaffs and all.
