If Fox news truly were fair and balanced, then why the hell do they have to keep telling us so? I can make my own judgment calls, thank you very much.

I'm with Grumpy, though. All news outlets have their own slant, their own agenda. Listening to just one news source won't get you all you need or want to know on a story. Gotta listen or read or watch a few and make your own composite story on an issue. Yeah, it's hard work.
Rob? Here's a link to the CBC hourly newscasts (opens a browser page):

This is a philosophical approach championed by Rove, just lie, the masses are chumps and will believe you. I must say Cheney is now taking this approach to an even higher level.

I love it when people say the Washpost is a liberal paper; George Will, Charles Krauthamer, Michael Gerson, all flaming liberals.

This is so true. Some sources do a better job of delivering information than others. I appreciate Democracy Now, Bill Moyers' Journal, and the PBS program Now as good sources of in-depth information viewed through a lens that's pretty easy to see through. Although you have to keep in mind who writes the checks for the PBS programs.

I used to really like NPR for my news but many years ago they went IMO liberal. Or at the very least Democrat. Sad..

When I want news I want just whats known. Not their own personal thoughts.

I finally had to give up on one of the local college stations because of NPR. They would keep playing their newscast over and over...and that fake european accent the hosts always use really gets on my nerves.

If there's one thing I hate worse than a fake, it's a fake trying to blow smoke up my ass.
