Beer money

What do you other retired old farts do for beer money (or play dough, as I tell my wife)?

I've been doing online studies for Prolific and Connect (CloudResearch). Most interesting are the mock jury trials, can't talk about substance but they pay enough for beer. Racked up more than $500 in Dec just doing them in my ample spare time. Just need a computer (or sometimes phone or tablet), headset, and, for the $100 jobs, a video camera.

IntelliZoom pays well once you get to the voice surveys, usually $8 per, about $60/hr. The others, like SwagBucks, are just too obnoxious to continue using.

I definitely don't need the cash, but my sister does, so I PayPal my proceeds to her.

I considered consulting (construction management, expert witness) when I retired 11 years ago but told myself (and my wife) that it had to be perfect - good work, people, location(s), interesting travel and good bucks. I turned down the first 5-6 imperfect offers in the first year, after which offers slowed down. Then I got an offer that checked all the boxes after about 1.5 years and, having fully adjusted to retirement, I couldn't imagine working again. Been chillin' ever since.

Was lucky to have good jobs, the both of us plus a Retirement from a former employer plus a 401K. Same for my wife. Lived within our means and never carried a balance on credit cards. Bought a home then another. So have rental property income. Never touched the 401K's and they were maxed plus. Still haven't.

So now able to make it just on what the Government sends each month fine and save.

Like stated at the front end, happened be very lucky and planned for these years long ago.

We spend our days going to the Y or like today Grandsons are here for a few days. Wife has her things like Bingo and keeping up with luncheons with the people she worked with. She is still active in her Union as an officer. My hobbies are many from making jewelry leather crafts electronics automotive horticulture are a few.

Go on trips and travel just the two of us. Or take along the Sons and their families.

Growing ganja in my spare time has saved some ducats that would've otherwise been spent. If I could only start making some temple balls...

I do work from home scoring common core tests for a company that contracts with various states. I like doing the algebra, but don't like listening to the English as Second Language kids try to recite. So naturally, there's lots of that coming up this year. This stuff starts in Jan and ends in June. Make enough to be rich and lazy for the rest of the year.

My federal annuity more than adequately covers all my financial needs and desires. Just got an 8.5% raise to boot.
