Note the absurdity of the situation. Kiev has been taken over by ultra-nationalist neo-nazis. A band of ultra-nationalist thugs is the last thing the European Union wants or needs as a member state. "

Russia continuing to expand control in the Crimea equals invasion. If they gave it back to a stable Ukraine well maybe they were helping. Forgive my doubt.

You seem to suck up like a sponge everything Roberts has to say about anything. He seems to have conveniently forgotten about the Russians' obligations under the Budapest Memorandum (included security assurances against threats or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine). Though Roberts is unquestionably a smart fellow, he seems to embrace the role of a gadfly and spews a lot of shit directed at impressionable people too lazy to study issues for themselves.
