You should stop while your ahead, your starting to sound like a republican after the presidential election six years ago. Don't worry the sky isn't falling.

Is that all being a doctor is about, making money?

My family doctor told me once, "Those guys come and go. Nowadays, most are retired before they hit 45-50. Get in, make the money, get out. That's how much money there is in surgery."

Sure, everybody wants to make money. But, at what point are you ONLY in it for the money? And what good is that to the rest of us, who just want to feel better, without having to lose the farm to pay for it?

Docs in the EU have a reasonable attitude about accumulation of wealth. Our friend who's an orthopedic surgeon in Paris is quite happy with his 2 bedroom flat in the 7th, and his new Audi A4.
