They did not say a word about watching pro sports in the swearing in ceremony.

Just back in from clearing around the heat pump and while I was out I ran the blower up the drive to the road. Only one track of feetprints heading for RR97, no sign of any plow, I think I'll withhold $100 from my property taxes this year.

Heaven forbid, but I missed two day's newspapers and thank God no one in the neighborhood had a medical emergency.

Did the plow make it down your cul-de-sac yet, Rob? Ours came through about 6:00 am today and I've dug through the wall of snow they created in the process. I might have to restock the larder today for the next storm due tomorrow.

They hit the court about 5:00 yesterday evening and our man only finished digging us out about an hour ago. If we only get 4 - 6 inches tomorrow the blower will handle that and get me some exercise in the bargain.

Flicker and Flash are predicting more power outages, so much for private industry. The whole 13 years I lived just outside of Ottawa there was one power failure. A transformer the size of a two car garage blew out. Inside of 12 hours they brought in a temporary one on a flat bed trailer. They had it wired up inside of 6 hours and we were back on line. And all that from a government owned power company - Ontario Hydro. These effing idiots here could not find their arse with both hands and a flashlight. They would need the flashlight because the power would most likely be out.
