Atheists need not apply ...
... to run for political office in 8 states due to longstanding prohibitions against non-believers holding political office.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...re-an-atheist/
How on earth is this constitutional (or even desirable)?

Maybe the Robertite Junta on the court does not want to take these cases since they violate the First Amendment.

Who brought these up? They haven't been enforced since 1961, but now the baggers will demand that they be revived.

I believe there is more to come.
Any effort to stop them will be painted as their evidence for the so-called "War on Christianity".

My wife believes in that happy horse manure so I have to take a great big bite of the shit sandwich and go with her every week.

Unlucky you!
My wife of forty some on years now is a Catholic just like me. I've been told we are not Christians by those who go to the rock n roll churches.

I do believe Matthew had sunnat to say about "Christians" who stand on street corners bellowing their prayers. If I was looking for a true follower of His teachings about the last place I would look is in any Church.

I believe a battle between two religions is little more than a game of Dueling Fairytales;
"My imaginary friend can kick YOUR imaginary friends ass!"
Get Christians, Jews and Muslims going at each other and you have the Killer Triplets of Abraham, lobbing rockets about. The whole thing is just friggin' stupid.

Pope Francis says atheists can do good and go to heaven too!
Pope Francis has good news for atheists. Jesus died and was raised for them as well. His redemptive embrace was for all, not just a chosen few.The choice to accept its reach is our own. The Holy Father was not teaching anything new. In fact, this hope that all who do not yet know God are not only capable of doing good - but will progress toward that knowledge of God by doing good - is ancient. The Church wants all men and women to be saved.

And six of the SCOTUS justices are Catholic so majority is on our side.
