As I've mentioned before, the only reasons Oregon is a blue state are Portland, Salem and Eugene. Roseburg is in Douglas county, which is quite red. The 2012 Douglas county election results were 62.3% Romney and 34.7% for Obama.

Along with being 88.2%white, Roseburg also has the following demographics:

Unemployed percentage below state average.
Black race population percentage significantly below state average.
Hispanic race population percentage below state average.
Median age above state average.
Foreign-born population percentage significantly below state average.
Institutionalized population percentage above state average.

By the way, I think I know that Popeye's "organization". It's on Broadway, more or less across the street from the old main building at Hopkins. It's in a VERY bad neighborhood. (Think "The Wire".) Hopkins staff get walked to and from, their cars by armed security, even if their cars are parked in the Hospital's covered parking garages. The idea of Carson walking into that Popeye's by himself is crazy!

It's kind of ironic that Carson points to the clerk behind the counter as if to say "He's the one with the money" I mean here he is, a highly successful MD. If he's anything like the MD's I've encountered the watch he was wearing was probably worth a lot more than there was in the Popeyes till.

I recently had a transaction with a gentleman from the Douglas County area. It was prior to the new law going into effect. I was told that the sheriff nor anyone else in the area would be bothering with the new laws. I have several collectors items I'd like to move along but most I encounter refuse to comply with the new law.

We have a home in a town on the south shore of Lake Michigan in NW Indiana. It's 96.6% white and perhaps as progressive and accepting as anyplace in the country.
