Dowton Abbey and Upstairs Downstairs are sort of like the Waltons seen from the other end of the telescope but with many similarities but of course radically show the differences between the USA and Great Britain.

Well if you have been watching Upstairs Downstairs you are indeed hooked already

I recommend Brideshead Revisited, Flambards, and Testament of Youth from the same period in Brit tv...early 80s

I mentioned I've started to watch All Creatures Great and Small, I'm a good number of episodes into it and it just gets better and better. Thanks for mentioning it Rob!

They did do the bull semen thing too, but it just didn't translate onto screen very well.

We just watched Searching for Sugar Man, the Oscar winning documentary about a Detroit musician who remained unknown in the US while becoming bigger than Elvis in South Africa. Good story and movie.

And, for what it's worth, I really liked "Million Dollar Baby".

Eastwood should have won his Oscar...or whatever they call those things, for that instead of "Unforgiven".

Personally, I think Eastwood wound up with so much shit in his britches that the rest of the Hollywood elite felt that they should throw him a bone, or otherwise appearing as fools.
