What's your stereo? Whatcha got?
I know, I know - only an a-hole would ask something like this on a political forum....let's debate stereo equipment!
Vandersteen3 & JBL100t3- Adcom555x2- Marantz 2270 as a preamp in my main system
JBL L80t3- Maggotboxes 150 biampx2- M Audio Audiophile sound card in my computer system

I'm using a vintage Short-o-matic AM/FM w 8-track player, a custom directional antenna I made out of an old clothes hanger, and have it pushing a collection of old drivers I took out of junked automobiles, wired them in series, and mounted them in old shipping containers.
The big trick is how many styrofoam peanuts to add to the shipping containers to get the tone just right.
I also have the drivers out of a couple of Realistic pocket sized transistor radios. I've been thinking about mounting them in a futball helmet and making a set of cans.

If a pair ever show up locally, although even Yamaha's own specs say the NS-690 goes 5Hz lower. The Polk 7Bs and a Rega Planar 2 TT followed me down here from Ottawa. I have owned both since new back in the 70s. The Rega sits beside this computer along with a K-1000 cassette (yeah I own three of them) for burning to CD. Thr Rega sports a Signet TK5e, the two Pioneer TTs have the Pioneer HOMC cartridges and the PX-2 can run Signet TK5e, AT31e LOMC or Denon DL-160 HOMC

All my good gear went to pay for stuff for the wife during the separation. I'm now a true AK'er and hunting thrift stores and curb sides for my gear.
