After months of criticizing special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, President Donald Trump’s supporters are issuing increasingly bold calls for presidential pardons to limit the investigation’s impact.

“I think he should be pardoning anybody who’s been indicted and make it clear that anybody else who gets indicted would be pardoned immediately,” said Frederick Fleitz, a former CIA analyst and senior vice president at the conservative Center for Security Policy.

The pleas for mercy mainly extend to the four former Trump aides who have already been swept up in the Russia probe: former campaign manager Paul Manafort, former deputy campaign manager Rick Gates, former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos. But they don’t stop there.

“It’s kind of cruel what’s going on right now and the president should put these defendants out of their misery,” said Larry Klayman, a conservative legal activist. “I think he should pardon everybody — and pardon himself.”

A council member in northern Texas is rejecting calls for his resignation over a series of anti-Muslim and anti-black Facebook posts, including one saying that President Trump should ban Islam in U.S. schools.

Tom Harrison, a city council member in Plano, Tex., is accused of sharing a post from a Facebook page titled “Joined Hands Across America For Trump.” The meme, which showed a young girl wearing a hijab, read: “Share if you think Trump should ban Islam in American schools....

Later, he said “I want to assure the citizens of Plano, I am not xenophobic. I am not a bigot. I am not a racist.”

I've heard that claim somewhere else.

I'm sorry that guy was a CIA analyst, but I'm glad it's 'former.'

Dems flip Kentucky House seat held by lawmaker who killed himself

The interesting part is not Linda Belcher beating Dan Johnsnon's widow Rebecca, but the loser's comments after her loss.
Quote:
Rebecca Johnson also denied the allegations against her late husband, claiming he was a victim of "an assault from the left." She refused to concede defeat Tuesday night, citing "widespread voter fraud."

"I've heard from and about people all day long saying they went to vote for me at the correct polling place and were refused the opportunity to vote," Johnson said in a news release. "It's like we're in a Third World country."

Perhaps she can now join Trump's anti-voter fraud commission.

JEFFERSON CITY
Gov. Eric Greitens was indicted Thursday afternoon by a St. Louis grand jury on a felony charge of invasion of privacy.
The charge stems from a 2015 affair and allegations that he threatened to release a nude photograph of the woman, taken while she was blindfolded and her hands were bound, if she ever spoke publicly about the affair.
