I disagree. The dialogue may be stilted, but it is done purposely and brilliantly. And there is no denying the chemistry between he and Jean Simmons.

I think Stubby Kaye had some of the best musical numbers.

Flowers of War with Christian Slater. Absolutely brutal movie. It is about the Japanese invasion into China and Nan King during world war II. Don't expect warm fuzzies. But a very powerful movie.
