I watched 'Brazil' for the first time in many many years.

It holds up well. The conceit of representing future culture/technology with a mashup of 50's-60's stuff now strikes one as brilliant; it now seems fresh when an attempt to 'realistically' show future culture from it's 1985 viewpoint would now be sadly dated and wrong. The social commentary/satire is as biting and apt as when new, alas. The weird dream/reality confusion serves to remind us that so much of what we call reality seems normal only because we're used to it. And it's still a wild feast of cultural riffs and references, with each frame and montage crowded with film art. Brilliant movie!
