And he has just touched the surface as to why health care cannot be delivered under a true free market model - the underlying prerequisites for free market conditions in modern health care simply do not and cannot exist in this country nor any other modern first world economy.

If the article points out that cost effective health care is an oxymoron under free market economics due to the demand curve for health care being essentially inelastic, I fully concur. Inelastic demand and health care being a consumer product are primarily why our free market health care system is so expensive. For modern health care to be cost effective in a modern economy the profit motive needs to be eliminated. Socialized medicine is the answer and I don't see this happening anytime soon.
