Anti-tax groups kinda hang that on themselves and should expect to be checked out for encouraging evasion, which is unlawful. Nonetheless, these groups should have been checked and cleared if they were "clean", end-of-story.
Not to throw a squirrel but the Nixon admin was particularly vengeful with their abuse of authority, I don't think this rises anywhere to that level as an example of blatant abuse.
