That's right. Any deviance from their perceived "norm" is a threat. You're threatening the bullies ego by demonstrating that you don't have to "be like him" in order to lead a happy, successful life. In fact you might be gay or a liberal and become even more successful than he. This threatens his "exceptionalism" and sends him into a hissy fit. Because, in his fucked up, pathetic brain it
