I truly mean that, actually. As I've noted before, I draw a distinction between ideology, and actual relations with real people. I've seen people start to react ideologically in a human interaction, then catch themselves and act decent.

I suspect there's a spectrum, of course--some are very totally governed by ideology, then it ranges across to people who'd never dream of being mean to anyone, even if they 'intellectually' hold very critical opinions of them.
